Publisher's Synopsis
Luba Balagova was born in 1968 in the Republic of Karbardina Balkaria (Caucasus) of the Russian Federation. She finished her studies in journalism and literature at the Moscow State University (Lomonosov) in 1992. She published her first poems at age nine in local newspapers and magazines and progressed to publish her first book of poetry "The Lonely Branch" as a university student in 1992. This was followed by "Stone Wall" in 1997, "I Say My Prayers in Circassian" in 2002, and "Empress Maria" in 2007. Her latest book of poetry, entitled "Trials" is due to be published in Russia in 2008.
