Publisher's Synopsis

After much encouragement from family and friends, Dad eventually put pen to paper and wrote his life story. He tells of the dramas and adventures growing up on a farm at Merghiny, near Ceduna on the Far West Coast of South Australia in the 1920s and 30s. He enlisted in the Royal Australian Air Force during World War II and tells all the funny and interesting things that happened to him during this time. Until I read his book, I always imagined that the whole war experience was just a big adventure for him, but I now realize that he was right in the thick of it although he never spoke of any real danger or bad things that happened. After the war he returned home to Port Lincoln and built a new life for himself, including building a house and raising a family. Dad was a wonderful man, positive and enthusiastic, and loved his wife and children dearly. He had a great sense of humour, and this is evident right throughout his story. Ann (Barnett) Staunton
