Publisher's Synopsis
A heartwarming story about an unlikely friendship between ten-year-old Josey and a young woodbooger/bigfoot. Josey was spending the summer with her grandma at her farm. She loved her grandma and enjoyed helping her tend the garden and take care of the chickens. She played with the kittens in the hayloft and climbed trees in the apple orchard. But she really wished she had a playmate. When she got her wish, she was surprised that this new friend was covered from head to toe with fur. Afraid Grandma wouldn't let her play with this strange-looking boy, she kept him a secret from her. She called her new friend Esau, for the hairy boy in a Bible story she'd learned about at Sunday School.
Grandma gave Josey the freedom to play anywhere on the farm. She did warn her not to wander farther than the orchard to play. She also warned her to come home before the sun dropped down behind the mountains because, "The boogers come out when it gets dark." Josey obeyed those rules. That was until her curiosity got the best of her and she tried to follow Esau home.
