Publisher's Synopsis
Xavier is a gifted boy with a fervently devout mother. His reality, shaped by his mother's religious fanaticism, revolves around music, mathematics, poetry and communication with his dead father. Michelle, the closest thing Xavier has to a friend, introduces him to the world his mother's suffocating "love" has denied him. But any hope of living a normal teenage life is lost when his secret pastime is discovered. The violent response, fuelled by gossip, paranoia and a culture that cowers to intimidation, has tragic consequences.
