In her succinct, richly imagistic poetry, Verónica González Arredondo explores the arid desert ecosystems in which she spent her childhood, as well as themes related to: immigration, social justice, femicide, perilous border crossings, and the vanishings of countless girls and women in northern Mexico who were making the journey across harsh terrain toward the United States border.
