Publisher's Synopsis
My life's work as a physician, psychiatrist, and alternative healer has been the investigation of social oppression, and how to block or reverse its effects. As a writer, I have created a series of books, therapies, and biotechnologies with this specific goal in mind, united under the series name: Freedom from Social Oppression.
"I Am Also a Voice" is the first of four anthologies, or collection of narrative pieces, from my first book: "Hide and Play Dead." The organizing theme for this anthology is racial identity-and its corollary, racism.
As in the original book, these true stories about my life history and ancestry are vivid, emotionally provocative, and unforgettable. They have been perceived as brilliant journalistic and social exposes, which are pregnant with meaning and, ultimately, uplifting.
The issue of race has come to the forefront of American culture. The complexity of each ethnic groups' subpopulations and sub-cultures is amplified by America as a global melting pot, and a majority minority nation.
You will find that these pages relate different perspectives about race, and how I, as an individual, survived the clash of different ethnicities with each other ethnicity, as well as turf battles among themselves and across the globe.
The other anthologies in this series center on the topics of individuation, sexuality, and a metaphysical and inspirational anthology focused on spirituality.
