Publisher's Synopsis

Hyenas and Lotuses is a novel taking place in the 11th century BC, with the historical background of the authentic dramatic events of that era. The novel is a result of many years of research. All characters are well embedded in historical realities, similarly events of everyday life (the way of eating meals, the way of closing and opening the door, measures, etc...) correspond to reality. While writing, Professor Andrzej Niwinski tried to faithfully reproduce the atmosphere of a given scene: a chapter in which the action takes place in the Valley of the Kings, was written in the Valley of the Kings, and the chapter in which the hero is in the port of Aswan, was written in that place. The names of people and places are consistent with the period in which the novel was staged (11th century BC), but the words such as: Egypt, Nile or Thebes, were assigned much later. As a curiosity, the book was written on four continents: started it in New Zealand, then continued on the return journey through Asia (airport in Singapore), a significant part was created in Africa (Egypt), the rest in Europe.
