Publisher's Synopsis
Veterinarian Jim Briggs promised his dying mother he would care for Portland, Oregon's strays-humans and dogs-as a community service.
With his inheritance and a long list of wealthy clients supporting his humanitarian mission, he launched Have Paws-Will Travel, a mobile canine care service. All is going well until six homeless people mysteriously disappear without a trace, and Briggs, the owner of a pet crematory with access to euthanasia drugs, becomes the prime suspect.
Complicating the investigation: the detective is Briggs' best friend, and Briggs' girlfriend is a local cop.
Will love and friendship derail justice for the missing who are presumed murdered? Or will they abandon Briggs to a life sentence in prison?
