Publisher's Synopsis

How Emotions of a Woman Works is a story of Deception, Betrayal, and Infidelity.

The story opens when Cassandra, a biracial teen, at 16, meets her first boyfriend, Richardson Bryant, and falls in love. She is the sheltered daughter of a Black police officer, Mr. David, and a white schoolteacher mother, Katie. Little does Cassandra know, she is being manipulated by Richardson, a full-fledged playa, and that she is the target of a bet. Meantime, behind her back, Richardson is juggling several other high school females and even an older young woman. Overtime, Cassandra slowly loses her innocence, discovers Richardson's betrayal, and is left disillusioned.

Fast-forward three years. Cassandra, as a nursing student at UCLA, is still not over her heartbreak. She finally decides to let her guard down and date, then marry a 21-year-old Caucasian young man named Patterson.

After she gives birth to her son, Cassandra's marriage unravels. Once again, she is betrayed by a love triangle she didn't see coming. After her divorce from Patterson, Cassandra becomes embittered. She decides since she couldn't beat men at their own game, she would join them. She becomes a different person, almost unrecognizable to herself. This leaves the question with the reader. Can women do what men do and still be a lady?
