Publisher's Synopsis
Joaquin Lucero is an American born Costa Rican. His parents lived in the US legally when he and his brother Manolo were born. They moved back to Costa Rica when Joaquin was five years old. He has attended school in Costa Rica since the first grade. He is now in the sixth grade and soon to be in the seventh. He attends Colegio Saint John in Desamprados, Alajuela. Joaquin wants to be a professional basketball player. He is told that his chances are not very good by two local coaches. His music teacher tell him and his parents he has a treble singing voice. He is a near prodigy. He is eligible this year to play on the school's basketball team, but does not make the team at the tryouts. He agrees to sing in the church's children's choir. He participates in a talent contest and makes it to the finals where he is eliminated. He decides to follow a singing career after much discussion with his parents, teacher and a local talent promoter. Follow Joaquin in his trials and tribulations at following a singing career.
