Houston He's worked hard for everything in his life and he's quite proud of that fact. Becoming a police officer in his hometown of Wichita Falls, Texas was just the first step toward something greater. His mother may be on the City Council but he doesn't let that stop him from being his own man. He gets by on his own merit and the accolades are all the sweeter when he earns them. But that doesn't stop someone from making his life hell in a twisted desire for revenge. Can he? Casey She's been babied and bullied by her mother her whole life. So landing a job as the assistant supervisor for the day shift at the Wichita Falls crime lab was the perfect way to show her mother she's strong enough to handle life no matter what it threw at her. She's on duty when the call comes in from the day shift supervisor that she's going to be handling a high-profile case where it looks like the victim might also be the perpetrator, but the evidence is pointing to someone else entirely. When Houston shows up at her station in the lab still woozy and wobbly from an attack in the hospital, Casey knows something's wrong. So she makes it her mission to get the truth out of the mountains of evidence in the lab and prays they find out who's really responsible for the nightmare Houston woke up in. The question is... Will she identify the suspect in time to save Houston? People say everything's bigger in Texas, and they're right. Casey's desire to prove Houston's innocence and Houston's desire to stop a homicidal maniac take them down a road neither of them have traveled before and they find out the missing piece in their lives is each other.
