Publisher's Synopsis
A vampire prison, centuries old and teaming with starved captives, is broken open when an earthquake rips through the land. Sixteen vampires escape, setting their sights on the helpless humans nearby as blood stains the earth in waves.
To stop the slaughter, vampires and vampire hunters must work together, the two feuding forces setting aside their differences for the greater good. Among those members, are Lydia and Samson, the unlikely duo with sparks of their own. Lydia despises all things male since the day her father left, abandoning her mother and herself for the floozies he'd slept around with, leading to her mother's suicide after a string of equally bad men. Her refusal to so much as give a man the time of day begins to falter when Samson comes into play. Samson has had his eye on Lydia since the day they met, the snap of the soulmate bond sliding into place like a puzzle. That only he acknowledged. Whatever he'd done in his life to earn the karma of being rejected continuously by his mate, he'd more than paid it off, but he couldn't stop trying. Whether she admits it or not, she was his one. His love. His mate. If it took him centuries to show her that? So be it. Now with a threat to the human race at large, the two must work together and the close proximity may be just what Samson needs to convince Lydia that he was meant for her.
