Publisher's Synopsis

The war in Afghanistan is just the beginning of this adventure. Hot Dive is a Canadian Military story. An unfortunate incident during the war nearly takes the life of a Canadian Army underwater specialist leaving him greviously wounded, disabled, and facing long months of rehabilitation. Convincing his doctor to allow him to leave the hospital is a tough battle, but not as tough as the fight he endures while rescuing a stranger on a distant beach. The woman is about to be raped by a gang of drunken Mexicans when Warrant Officer Sigurdson intervenes. The two Canadians find common ground and their friendship develops into a deep and loving relationship. Her nursing skills help him recover from his wounds of war while he introduces her to the wonders of the sea. Author Jim Prentice is a veteran of 16 years in the Canadian Army. Himself a soldier, diver, pilot, parachutist, and sailing instructor, his own experiences are reflected in his writing. Married for 52 years he and his wife have 2 daughters, 4 grandchildren, and their 12th great-grandchild is on the way. They have travelled extensively in 16 countries in their own aircraft, assorted RVs and several power boats. Jim's philosophy in life is to try everything at least once. Now approaching age 72 he is running out of new challenges so sharing his experiences is his latest pastime. Hot Dive is a fictional work based on many of his own exploits.
