Publisher's Synopsis

Amrit, an MD, and the daughter of the famous Sikh general who died while fighting the British in Sikh War II, comes to America for higher studies. At Johns Hopkins, where she was studying, she meets, falls in love, and marries her classmate, Bill Thompson. This interracial marriage creates a great resentment and distress to Amrit's parents and the people of her community. They planned to remove this blot on their honor by killing her. On the death of her mother, she being the only child, had to come to scatter her mother's ashes on the sacred Ganges River. She carries the ashes to Hardwar on the banks of the sacred river and vanishes. Her husband comes to New Delhi and hires the famous Indian Private Investigator, Thind, to find Amrit. Thind worked as an Inspector with the Punjab Police for ten years. He resigned his job, went to America, took his education and training in crime investigation there. After working ten years with the world famous American Forensic Expert, he returned to India and opened his Private Investigation Agency in New Delhi. He had solved the famous complicated murder of the Chairman of the Indian Railways and saved the American Peace Corps worker who was charged with the murder.
