Publisher's Synopsis
Documentary focusing on the brutalities that took place in Buchenwald concentration camp between 1942 and 1945. Though not an extermination camp, the prisoners were grossly mistreated by the Nazi guards, many being either worked to death or severely punished for the littlest errors. When Hermann Pister was appointed commandant in 1942, the living conditions for the inmates of Buchenwald grew even worse. In 1945 the US Army liberated the camp, after which many of the guards and commandants who had worked there were tried for their crimes.
