Publisher's Synopsis
In the days of Sir Walter Raleigh (1547) a shipload of men, women, and children attempted to start a settlement on Roanoke Island. Two years later they disappeared without a trace. That is until Hjalmer Berstrom plowed up remnants of the colonists in his flax field in a place called Dry Run, South Dakota. In this fictional account history collides with Roanoke, the wandering Sioux tribe, Coronado and the Seven Cities of Gold when a newborn baby comes to live with Grandma and Grandpa on their Dry Run farm.
