Publisher's Synopsis
Excerpt from History of the War of Independence in Greece, Vol. 1 of 2
The events which have, of late years, taken place in Greece, are so interesting in themselves, and so likely to be of consider able in?uence on the future history of the world, that the proprietors of constable's miscellany have deemed that they could not select a subject more likely to prove acceptable to the public, than the narrative of the War of Independence in Greece. They proposed the task of writing it to me; and after some hesitation, I agreed to un dertake it.
