History of the United States of America from the Discovery Vol. 2 of 6 was written by George Bancroft, an American historian and statesman. In this six volume series, Bancroft explores a wide variety of locations, events, and historic individuals. Some of these events and individuals are relatively well known while others will be new to the reader as this publication compresses more information than other history books on the same topic.
Bancroft likes to begin the laborious process of dissecting history by focusing in primarily on specific locations within the United States. In the text, Bancroft initially focuses on both very specific locations typically based on mutual cultures (such as New Netherlands) and larger locales based on similar political interests (such as the Southern states). After attributing locations to their own chapters, Bancroft then breaks down specific events in each location that occur within the time frame the volume is set within. Lastly, Bancroft determines key figures and persons of interest within each location and each time period, often those that are related to the specific events discussed, and shares information on them at length.

George Bancroft goes above and beyond in his portrayal of important events and key figures in American history.
