His Secret

Kendrick Matheson tried gathering his nerves as he walked toward the Chief Justice's office. He hadn't any idea why he was being hauled there, but he kept walking. Once seated, Kendrick was surprised to receive the appointment of Judge Kendrick Matheson. He was told the job was given to him because of his unwavering support of the young people, and they felt he would do what so many before him couldn't. To help curtail the angst of the youth, Kendrick commissioned a center where the kids could blow off steam after school or their part-time jobs.
After his meeting, Kendrick headed to grab lunch. Things were working well. Now if he could keep his mother off his back, all would be right in his world. Although Kendrick knew that wasn't about to happen because his mother wanted him to find love, marry and give her a few grandchildren.
Kendrick looked to his right as he sat in a booth at Lacy's Diner. Sitting in the booth across from him was the most gorgeous woman he had ever seen. He paused, wanting to say something to her, thinking she would send him away. So after gathering his nerves to walk over to her, Kendrick decided to use his voice to get her to open up and not ask him to leave.
