Publisher's Synopsis

Triple bill of war-related feature films. 'Hiroshima' (1995) is a made-for-TV drama which brings to life the events that led up to the fateful decision to use nuclear weapons against civilians for the first time. The leaders of the three main countries involved, America's Harry Truman, Britain's Winston Churchill and Japan's Emperor Hirohito are played, respectively, by Kenneth Welsh, Timothy West and Naohiko Umekawa. 'The Gulf War' (1998) is a made-for-TV drama which looks at the aftermath of the first Gulf War (1990-91). The film follows US soldier Chris Small (Matt Keeslar)'s bid to find someone in authority to take responsibility for the illness he suffers after his return home. Chris, like thousands of US soldiers returning from the war, believes he is suffering from a condition known as 'Gulf War Syndrome', possibly due to chemicals he was exposed to in Iraq, but struggles to obtain answers. 'Gypsy Warriors' (1978) stars Tom Selleck and James Whitmore Jr. as a pair of US service personnel sent behind enemy lines in WW II France on a vital mission. Captain Theodore Brinkenhoff (Selleck) and Captain Sheldon Alhern (Whitmore) join a group of travelling gypsies to work their way behind German lines. There they must find and destroy a plant manufacturing a toxin with the power to devastate the world.
