Publisher's Synopsis
From the Author: The subject matter of my book treats of the Hills of Gold on the Georgetown Divide, in the County of El Dorado, State of California, and has no special relation to the book written by me and published in 1915, entitled ''California's El Dorado Yesterday and Today''. In presenting this book to the public I offer a presentation of the events and happenings of historical importance from the early discovery of California to the discovery of gold by James Wilson Marshall in it, in January 1848. Also the events and happenings which followed that momentous discovery in what is known as the ''gold rush days of '49''
