Paris, 1941. Amelie Dreyfus is hiding. It's a just game when she goes into Maman's giant wardrobe. When she comes out it's a matter of life and death. With her family swept away by the Nazis, Amelie decides to fight back, joins the Resistance and struggles through long years of war, forced to grow-up ahead of her time. With the Americans approaching, Amelie takes on one last mission, to save a group of Jewish children barely younger than her, and once that's done she will at last find out if her family are coming home.
