Something unusual occurs as Michelle Nordahl begins to have frightening visions of a girl in distress. As the visions string together she journeys into her devastating past. A slew of forgotten memories invade her current surroundings, and the cobwebs of her mind begin to unravel the dreadful truth of a long forgotten childhood. Michelle stumbles upon a church that promises they can make sense of it all. Afraid of going it alone she recruits her friend Diane, but loses her along the way as she is catapulted into an unusual, yet familiar place. A beautiful castle in the mountains, with brilliant landscaping, and a large garden maze; Michelle doesn't recall ever being there before, but seems well acquainted with her surroundings. It tends to bring a temporary comfort until she senses her similitude has been compromised. As she enters the realms of ambivalence, complacency, self-contempt, and fear, she also encounters a villain named Mary Shepherd trying to steal her identity. Contending with each realm she discovers that she has a choice between who she is and who she wants to become. Michelle begins to disentangle her past, and realizes she doesn't have to live there anymore. As you venture through the different dominions, you may recognize someone along the way.
