A selection of in-depth interviews with ten women from different countries and backgrounds as they struggle to make a difference to their community. While some of the sruggles have a political context, others deal with universal problems such as physical disabilities and the plight of deprived children. Like grains of sand in a shifting desert, these women are altering the landscape around them; slowly and profoundly.
