Publisher's Synopsis
Australian coming-of-age comedy drama starring Danielle Cantanzariti as Esther Blueburger, a 13-year-old Jewish girl desperate to escape her role as nerd and perpetual outsider. When she escapes from her Bat Mitzvah party, Esther is befriended by Sunni (Keisha Castle-Hughes), the effortlessly cool girl who is everything Esther thinks she wants to be. With Sunni's help, Esther distances herself from her dysfunctional family and starts hanging out with Sunni and her super-hip single mum, Mary (Toni Collette), and even transfers herself to Sunni's school without her family's knowledge. But when tragedy strikes for Sunni, Esther finally realises that being yourself is more important than fitting in.
