Strategic analysis is not only linked to big businesses. Having flexible and simple tools which allow the understanding of markets and establish competitive advantages has become one of the fundamental tasks of the leaders of our time. Therefore, the purpose of this work related to evaluate the applicability and use of simple Strategic Analysis Tools (SAT) for all types of businesses and especially for Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) -in Quito, Ecuador. In conclusion, it is emphasized that their application would help SMEs of Quito, Ecuador and all kinds of enterprises in formulating strategic options that allow them to achieve a much more solid and sustainable competitive position over time.
