Excerpt from Herbert Pelham: His Ancestors and Descendants
The present possessor will not allow the roll, or any entire portion' of it, to be printed; and it would possess no particular interest ex cept to the families immediately concerned, while to Americans its importance is confined to the Pelhams. I have, however, been allowed to copy it entire, and, under that express stipulation, to make such use of its details as I see fit. From the statements in this roll, and such other facts as I have been able to glean from other sources, I now prepose to present what I believe to be the true history of Herbert Pelham.
