Publisher's Synopsis
This volume presents the latest "in vitro" and "in vivo" studies on haematopoietic stem cell (HSC) biology. These include new data on: molecular controls; microenvironment; gene therapy; animal models of haematopoiesis; and clinical applications. The concept that HSCs are immortal and possess multiple developmental capabilities has always intrigued researchers in this field. Data presented at this conference demonstrate that major insights into these fundamental characteristics of HSC may soon be achieved.
