STORY DESCRIPTION: Stressed Blake Chapman is traveling to his own disciplinary hearing in London when he just misses a connecting tube train. As it disappears down the tunnel, and he curses the "fat fuck" who got in the way of him boarding, there are a number of explosions when suicide bombers in each carriage simultaneously detonate devices. While everyone slowly comes to terms with the capital's worst terrorist atrocity since World War II, Blake spots an opportunity to escape the tedium of life back home in Kent with his wife Helen and their five year old twin sons. Deciding to stay in London to build a new life and identity, things quickly fall into place for this frustrated musician who is now missing presumed dead. Meanwhile, Helen struggles to cope with hiding her devastating grief from their two boys. Told in alternate first-person chapters by Blake and Helen, Hello Mr Magpie... is a contemporary look at how everyday pressures from work and family can affect our sanity and make us question what is important in life.
