Deidra remained behind when the King of Mytera returned to their Homelands, hoping she could guide the people to a better way of life. The King had set a moratorium of two hundred years for the people to prove their ability to self-rule. Now their time is up and a progress report has been sent to the King. When political espionage turns public opinion against her, Deidra is aware that assassins could be nearby. A murderous plot sends Deidra and her nephew, Andrew, fleeing their home with the infamous Captain Harris at her side.
