The "Heinemann Mathematics" series was written specifically for the National Curriculum, and has been updated in line with the 1995 Order for Mathematics. This complete reference pack contains a copy of the workbook and the textbook for the sixth stage, and teacher notes, giving help with planning for single lessons and a whole scheme of work. The notes show which pages and components can be used to resource each topic.;The pack also contains reinforcement material to use with children who require extra practice of key maths topics. Extension activities, some aimed at more able children, provide opportunities to extend their learning in more challenging contexts.;The series is clearly structured with gradual progression through each stage, to help children become confident learners without sudden leaps in progression. Traditional techniques are used throughout the series, with children dealing with increasingly large numbers as they advance through the stages. Calculator work is included from the second stage. The assessment and resources packs include resources for checking children's mathematical knowledge and skills.
