This textbook is intended for courses in heat transfer for undergraduates, not only in chemical engineering and related disciplines of biochemical engineering, and chemical technology, but also in mechanical engineering and production engineering. The author provides the reader with a thorough account of the fundamental principles and their applications to engineering practice, including a survey of the recent developments in heat transfer equipment. A whole chapter has been devoted to explain the concept of the heat transfer coefficient to give a feel of its importance in tackling problems of convective heat transfer.
