The title of art series is"Healing the soul with the Shaman's Power! Soul Retrieval with Courage to Face our Fears" The paintings in the art series are all original one of a kind oil paintings painted on canvas. They are are stretched on stretchers made in the artist's studio. There are 13 paintings to this series. They are huge as each painting measures 4+ feet by 5+ feet. These paintings are symbolic, surrealistic in style with primitive, shamanic, metaphysical, psychological, spiritual, animistic, and modern influences. Also, they are anthropological and sociological as they are influenced by native American tribal ideas and other mystery and 'occult' Gnostic world concepts. All of the foregrounds for these paintings were finished over a span of 2 months on March, April, May 2015. They were inspired by an artist's friend who left this world as a result of depression. So these paintings are dedicated to him. This art is about going within, into the inner landscape, and gaining power over it. This art is about facing inner conflict and succeeding as an exercise at overcoming fear or images that cause fear. Basically, this art is based on ancient tribal concepts that parts of the soul may become lost and then may be recovered by the shamanic person.
