Publisher's Synopsis

Bruce Kenton was raised in a single-parent household where he and his baby sister knew their dads only through the support payment checks that arrive each week. As a youngster, Bruce assumed the role as head of his household or "man of the family" and vowed from that point on to be a different kind of parent from his predecessor. But, being in a relationship with his girlfriend, Lane Dickson, was not easy. There were constant fights over what her role in the house should be. Lane did not agree with the male-dominated family structure nor did she agree with Bruce's idea of a "woman's place." It wasn't long before he started taking the long way home when he got off work and going in early to avoid arguments with her. Mel, on the other hand was Lane's complete opposite. She was understanding and a good listener. He was thrilled with her company where he was treated the way a man should be. Soon he faltered in his responsibilities to Lane and cheated with Mel, when Lane found out about it, she left him. After Lane left, Bruce realized that he didn't want her gone, he just wanted her respect and tried to fix what he messed up, by ending his affair with Mel. Unfortunately Mel wasn't ready to let him go. Find out if Bruce was able to fix things, while Mel was still trying to break them and did he reclaim his place as the head of the household where he felt a man should be or did these women teach him a lesson that he was not ready to learn?
