Publisher's Synopsis
This is a love letter to my husband, to thank him for being who he is, one of the most amazing, yet uncompromising people I have ever met. His kindness, strength, love and wisdom have meant I've had a very easy and fulfilled life, have been cherished and allowed to be myself. It's also a bit of a rant about things and people that annoy me despite me truly believing this world we live in is full of joy and, going against my Brummie instincts to be comically cynical, I thank my lucky stars every day I wake up for the hand I've been dealt. Not everything has run smoothly, there has been heartbreak too, but it actually doesn't matter and just makes the rest of it seem even more amazing. I talk about parenting, something I thought I didn't have any interest in for 40 years and how it is both the most challenging and wonderful thing I've ever done. There is also a light-hearted look at wider family relationships, with my interesting (and I only realised how interesting when I started writing this!) family. I want everyone to realise the person they're with, that they've been with forever, is still their hero, as they were when they first met them. Sometimes you just have to look at them properly and look at them a bit longer.
