Publisher's Synopsis
The placenta is responsible for the production of a hormone called human chorionic gonadotropin (HCG) during pregnancy. HCG is also commonly referred to as the pregnancy hormone. The HCG diet, on the other hand, has almost nothing to do with being pregnant. It is a contentious approach to losing weight that involves taking unapproved HCG supplements or getting hormone injections, in addition to following an extremely low-calorie diet.
