Publisher's Synopsis
During my college summers, 1976 to 1979, I had the adventure of a lifetime talking to roughly ten thousand people in West Virginia, Ohio, and Michigan. I rapped four times on their doors and tried to sell them a book. Some let me in. Some bought. Some made made me a peanut butter and pickle sandwich. Others, not so nice. Over forty weeks, the time it takes to grow a baby, I learned volumes about myself, my fellow humans, and the art of selling. I invite you to share in my experiences as a Californian in Appalachia, selling to the Amish, and other stories.
