Publisher's Synopsis
The complexities about life and love often leave us feeling totally defeated. We were not born prepared for all that we will have to endure. There is no guidebook on how to do any of this. In life, confusion surpasses clarity, and bitterness tends to seep into the hearts of sweet and good people. None of us know who we really are or completely understand ourselves. Overtime, we are only able to create ideas and belief systems about ourselves, that help guide us on the unknown path of life. We go through hardships and difficulties that shape us into stronger individuals, but also leave us a little broken on the inside. As much as our experiences strengthen us, they also soften us. We are often made almost too human for our own good. I always thought, at first, that this wasn't the best thing - to be rendered so vulnerable and fragile. I believed I was weak because I felt too human. I have feared being too much of myself simply for the sake of others. Alone with my loud thoughts and deeply feeling heart, I sought comfort through the written word - mine, and the words of others. It was then I discovered that I wasn't alone, feeling all these heavy human feelings. I found the inspiration to keep going with the help of my own words, and continued to put my heart down on paper from time to time. What I have to offer to you is this little voice of mine that carries big feelings. I do not even understand my own writings or where all my feelings come from. However, there is nothing more true than these words that I give to you. I have written to the best of my ability, and with my heart's capacity, the feelings of a young woman struggling with, yet also accepting the strangeness of her essence. This book is for anyone who feels a little strange too. We are the "too much" individuals that many speak of. But, what we really are, is simply, human. I hope you are inspired and encouraged by my words. I hope you feel seen and heard. I hope you find the courage to be yourself. And I hope you find happiness in the waiting. Whatever it is in life that you're waiting for, it will come. Have faith and courage, and it will come. Every word in this book has been thought of and written with love and a warm heart, and may you always feel warm and loved. Stay well, and be happy. - Grace Sunday Unah, another human like you.
