Publisher's Synopsis

Studienarbeit aus dem Jahr 2006 im Fachbereich Politik - Politische Theorie und Ideengeschichte, Note: 2,3, Ernst-Moritz-Arndt-Universität Greifswald (Institut für Politikwissenschaft), Veranstaltung: "Klassiker der modernen politischen Theorie", Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: This work pointed out the political understanding of Hannah Arendt, a political philosopher of normative theory in the last century. By using her works Was ist Politik? and Vita activa oder Vom tätigen Leben her central fundamentals of human majority, politics, liberty and acting (behave) became represented. Hence it appeared what the philosopher means when she talks about political degradation and a realization of political liberty through acting. In conclusion it turned out that Arendts normative political understanding is not transferable to reality of today because it includes an idealistic and utopian character. Still Arendts representation of her central fundamentals is understandable and desirable.
