Publisher's Synopsis
This is the second edition of a graduate-level text on behavioural approaches to therapy. Since the first edition, the theoretical bases for these techniques have greatly expanded, as have the applications and related research. The work is grouped into four sections: adult disorders, childhood disorders, behavioural medicine and special populations. Chapters in the first three sections are arranged around specific disorders, each focusing on behaviour strategies appropriate for that disorder, and each supported by relevant theoretical underpinnings and research findings. The final section deals with special groups such as the aged, the handicapped, victims of child abuse, and such related techniques as family and community intervention.
