Publisher's Synopsis
Twenty-three-year-old Hailey Cain had failed to graduate from the United States Military Academy. Then, following a tragic accident, she's forced to leave Los Angeles. Now working as a bike messenger, she agrees to help an old school friend to drive a naive teenage girl home to her family's village in rural Mexico. It seems an easy job, but on an isolated highway, rider and passenger are ambushed by seven heavily-armed men. Hailey is shot. The girl disappears. Hailey finally recovers - and everything she thought she knew is wrong. The smart thing would be to go home and lick her wounds in private. But Hailey, through with doing the smart thing, and with little more than resolve, goes on a mission for answers...and for justice.
