To combat desertification, protect the Moroccan forest and respect local traditions, the author has been running an ambitious agro-industrial project called the (H)ALFA Project for the past ten years. The aim of the project is to produce and market fuel briquettes made from the Moroccan biomass found in the alfa beds of the arid Atlas steppes.
