Publisher's Synopsis
Mickey thought she had experienced quite a bit for a kid her age. She and her five younger siblings had moved around the whole country and met people from all over the world. Being a navy brat had its perks, but Mickey never felt like she belonged anywhere, that is, until she met Jamie.
He felt like home, a dark, mysterious, broken home. This small town in Virginia wasn't like that though. The racism and turmoil had turned everyone against each other, and Jamie was smack-dab in the middle of it, being the leader of the white gang. Just what was Mickey getting herself into this time? Soon the violence, drugs, gang fights, and racism would send her family spiraling. Was Jamie's love worth everything she would have to sacrifice?
