Growing Up Hillbilly is a delightful set of stories centering on the early life of author Dave McKellep and the early life of Daves children growing up in central Kentucky. Most stories are located in the Ozark Mountains of Arkansas, where Dave grew up in the 1950's, 60's and 70's and includes stories of the Buffalo River, Archey Fork River, White River, and the Little Red River. There are a few stories centered in Kentucky and features Dave children. It is simply stories of life growing up in beautiful Ozark Mountains of Arkansas and the woods, hollows, and rivers of Kentucky.
