Daniella Langley, (Dani) a woman about to marry the crown Prince of the Detroit Bucharello crime family, musters the courage to break free from the mob and walk away from her own wedding. She finds solace in the Florida Keys, where she meets Carver Levy (Cal), who is also seeking regeneration after his girlfriend left him to follow her career path. They form a comforting friendship that is soon tested when Valentino (Val) Dani's vengeful ex relentlessly pursues them. Val catches up to them on Florida's alligator alley, where Dani bravely steps in front of a bullet to save Cal. Recovering in the hospital, Dani realizes leaving the mob was the right decision, and with Cal by her side, they can now face an uncertain future together, determined to outsmart the mob at every turn and create a new life guided by their deep love for each other.
