Publisher's Synopsis
In a nation conquered by the more technologically advanced Cessor and a time when dragons are fading into legend, Allanas is born in a remote mountain village that ultimately rejects her. Suspicious of her changing skin color, she is accused by her own father of bringing plague to the village and is chased out by a vigilante mob. Forced to wander while her body completes its metamorphosis to functioning photosynthetic skin, Allanas is tracked by slavers and caught. Sold into slavery, she begins a new life where she is protected from the superstitions of others. But even as she feels safe for the first time, her life begins to unravel in other ways as she's drawn into the mystery and history of dragons in the Matterhorn Kingdom before it was conquered.
