Publisher's Synopsis
T. Matthew Meyer holds Bachelor's Degree in Classics and Ancient Greek and a Master's Degree in Classics from the University of Nebraska Lincoln, where he studied Classical Literature, Greek, and Latin. He specialized in ancient Greek and Greek literature while at the university under the guidance of Dr. Thomas Rinkevich and Dr. Valdis Leinicks, both of whom are extraordinarily skilled in Greek. Inspired by his wife and his children, Mr. Meyer has developed this beautiful primer for students enrolled in Schola Rosa: Co-op & Home Curriculum in his spare time, donating his talents to the benefit of Schola Rosa families. His wife, Abigail Meyer, also sacrificed her time by finding the images that appear in this book. This engaging and educative primer introduces students to the Greek alphabet and to its pronunciation. In addition, students will learn to read and write basic sentences in Greek. Its method is closely akin to basic reading programs in English. May you and your student sit beside one another and learn to read Greek just like you both learned English --- with pronunciation and writing practice, reading drills, and vocabulary activities. We are thankful to have this book as part of the Schola Rosa curriculum and we hope you enjoy a wonderful year with Greek. ALECIA J. ROLLING, M.A. Founder of Schola Rosa
