Publisher's Synopsis
Satirical sports comedy loosely based on the life and legend of boxing promoter Don King. Samuel L. Jackson stars as the Reverend Fred Sultan: a flashy, money-hungry Las Vegas boxing promoter who realises that public interest is fading in the sport and as a result his empire is in danger of falling apart. He decides to find a new white hero who can challenge his reigning black champion, James 'The Grim Reaper' Roper (Damon Wayans) - and make him a millionaire in the process. He manages to track down Terry Conklin (Peter Berg), the only man ever to have defeated Roper - although this was in an amateur fight some ten years back. Now the frontman of rock band 'Massive Head Wound' - and seriously out of shape - Conklin looks like the perfect candidate to get flattened by Roper... but things don't quite go according to Sultan's plans...
