Publisher's Synopsis
It's New Year's Day 1954, and everything is just fine. Inflation is low, employment is high and the time is right for making money - bags and bags of money. On the television (the new color television), there are so many things to see: the Rose Parade and the Rose Bowl and, at half-time, the minute-long commercial for the new Buick (and another for the new Plymouth - and the new Cadillac, the new Chevrolet and the new Ford). And they're all starting to sprout fins. What's more, the word is that Marilyn Monroe is finally getting married. Who would dare dispute the sentiment of 'Engine Charlie' Wilson - the man now in charge of the nation's armed forces - that what's good for General Motors has got to be good for America?
