The bearded stranger just showed up one day. Where did he come from? Why did everyone treat him as if he were part of the family? Was it just a coincident that FBI agent Charlie Marvin just happened to be in California the same time the stranger showed up? Agent Marvin's home base was Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Why was he now in California? The death of the Mexico boy, Carlos, had never strayed very far from Sheriff Winters thoughts in the year or so since Carlos was found dead. All Carlos wanted was to work the farm crops and make enough money to help out his family in Mexico. What happened? Sheriff Winters was pretty sure he knew who was responsible for Carlos' death. All he had to do was prove it. And that was beginning to be more of a problem than he had bargained for. Another summer, another adventure.This is what Robby was thinking as his family settled into the farm labor camp that would be their home for the next couple of months or so. The summer crops were ready to be harvested and the migrant farm workers were showing up in droves to get a piece of the action. Robby was looking forward to seeing some of his old friends again.
